Two Great e-Newsletters for rainy days

It's raining here in New Hampshire, but I just received two e-Newsletters that will help me and the kiddos through a rainy day (and even into the weekend).

The Dover Sampler is a weekly e-Newsletter from Dover Publications. You may know the Dover name for their little books for children on pretty much every subject such as paper dolls, sticker books, word searches and mazes. Their little books are in bookstores and sell for a couple dollars each. They are awesome as stocking stuffers and to bring along in the car or to restaurants. All of my boys (who are 8, 6 and 4) find titles that keep them busy. They also have a wonderful line of full-size books on a variety of art, music and science topics. My oldest son (who is 8) received a few of their origami books and has been creating all sorts of projects ever since. I also use their royalty-free clip art collections for a variety of projects and inspiration.

This week's sampler has samples from 20 books and includes samples of projects, games and some truly beautiful coloring pages of the Psalms, dream catchers, and decorated eggs. Perfect for the Lenten season and springtime. And they are free! Yippee!!

The other e-Newsletter that I look forward to that comes out monthly is from Marilyn Scott-Waters a.k.a. the Toymaker. The newsletter she sends out has beautiful "toys" that you and your child can create. Print out these creative projects, cut, fold, paste and enjoy! The illustrations on these projects are so beautiful and fanciful! This month, you and your child can usher in spring with bluebirds and a garland of rainbow-colored feathered friends! The projects on this site are also free.

Enjoy these projects and dream of Spring!
